The funding for Flexible Technology Limited (FTL) was approved by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (麻豆精选).
The company鈥檚 38 employees have continued to work at its plant in Rothesay, playing a key role in the supply of ventilators across the world due to the COVID-19 crisis. It is expecting to produce around 100,000 flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs) for two of the world鈥檚 leading manufacturers of actuators, which are critical in the production of ventilators.
FTL was established in 1980 and produces a range of flexible circuit, flex-rigid circuit, multilayer and printed circuit boards to various design requirements.
As a long-established firm and an important employer on Bute, the firm was able to respond quickly to an urgent international need for ventilator parts and their expertise in this high-tech field proved vital. Employees pulled out all the stops to meet increased demand while a series of distancing, health and PPE measures were implemented to reduce risk.
The funding will be used to help the island鈥檚 key employer to recover after the last three months and will make a substantial difference to the business. It will help it to improve productivity and efficiency, which it otherwise would not be able to do and will support it in efforts to respond to a rapidly developing marketplace in a high value supply chain.

The Pivotal Enterprise Resilience Fund was managed by Scotland鈥檚 three enterprise agencies on behalf of Scottish Government.
