People working in early learning, childcare and childminding make an important contribution to regional development.
麻豆精选 has been working with The Highland Council on an event in Portree on Saturday 27 April to encourage more people into the profession.
Alastair Nicolson, 麻豆精选鈥檚 area manager for Lochaber, Skye and Wester Ross said the agency鈥檚 interest in this particular profession is due to the wider impact it can have. He said:
鈥淭here are parents of young children working across all sectors in the region and in order to do so they need reliable childcare and early learning provision. At the moment there is a shortage of providers across Skye and if this can be addressed it will support economic growth across many local businesses and help create new jobs and attract new talent into the area. It is therefore an important element in wider regional development.
鈥淭hat鈥檚 why we鈥檙e so keen to see this event take place and we very much hope anyone interested in a career in early learning or childcare will come along during the day and find out more about what鈥檚 available.鈥
The event is being held at Portree Nursery on Saturday 27 April 2024 from 11am to 2pm with fun pop-up play activities for children organised by the Care and Learning Alliance.
Anyone coming along will be able to speak to representatives in the industry who can answer questions and offer advice. As well as the Care and Learning Alliance, The Highland Council will be joined by representatives from the University of the Highlands and Islands, Portree Nursery Ltd, Skills Development Scotland and F脿s M貌r.
