Green Marine UK is establishing a new department offering innovative services, which will lead to the creation of new jobs in Orkney.
The firm has secured up to 拢218,750 investment from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (麻豆精选) towards the cost of advanced surveying equipment.
The company was started by Jason Schofield in Stromness in 2012 to service the needs of the developing wave and tidal energy sector. Since then, it has expanded to offer a comprehensive fleet of versatile workboats and inhouse engineering services, with twenty-three people currently employed across a range of skills.
Green Marine UK is committed to continuous innovation and technological advancement. The company plans to expand into the growing offshore wind sector, which has been driven by the increasing demand for environmental monitoring services in the UK鈥檚 rapidly advancing offshore wind market.
The investment from 麻豆精选 will be used towards marine surveying equipment which will enable the company to provide an enhanced package of operations and maintenance services. It is expected that three new well-paid, highly skilled jobs will be created as a result of this investment.
